Requirements
To be eligible for the Registered Lean Sigma Black Belt, RLSBB, applicants should have passed the accredited Lean Sigma Black Belt examination.
In addition, every applicant should pass a VIVA exam (30 minutes’ presentation + 30 minutes’ Q & A session) and complete an individual real project or simulated project which meets the following requirements:
Real project
- Project duration is around 6-9 months
- The real data should be approved by Accountant or Department Manager
- Advanced Six Sigma tools should be used
- Minimum saving is not less than HK$500,000 per year
Simulated project
- Attend Black Belt Simulation Project Course in 30 hours and complete an individual project
Remarks:
- To boarder professional recognition and align our professional titles with international common practice, the title of ‘Registered Quality Professional (Lean Black Belt), RQP(LBB)’ has been changed as ‘Registered Lean Sigma Black Belt, RLSBB’ from 15 April 2013.
- There will be a charge for VIVA exam.
- Candidates should provide below documents at least 5 working days before VIVA exam:
1> Presentation file (in PowerPoint format)
2> All supporting data files (usually in SigmaXL format)
3> Full Project Report (in Word format), should be submitted within one week after the VIVA exam - SSI will also provide project coaching if required, and the coaching fee will be charged.
Registration Fee
Annual Type: HK$750 per year
Life Type: HK$4,500
NOTE:
If the applicant submits a new registration application after the course has been completed for more than 18 months, a re-examination will be required.
For the annual type renewal application that has been expired for more than 12 months, a re-examination will be required.
Maintain Registration Status
To maintain standards of registered professionals, all registered professionals are required to complete 30 CPD credits (equivalent to 30 study hours) in every three years. CPD credits can be in a form of the following experiences:
A. Leading Six Sigma / Lean projects
B. Conducting Six Sigma / Lean training programmes
C. Attending Six Sigma / Lean or related training courses, seminars or study missions
D. Joining our seminars or programmes under the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Scheme, or similar events organized by other renowned professional organizations such as Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Project Management Institute Hong Kong Chapter (PMIHK), etc.,
CPD Certificate will be offered for SSI Registered Professionals for free upon request, and will be issued for non SSI Registered Professionals with administration charge HK$50.
