Eligibility Requirements for Registered Lean Practitioner (RLP) Professionals
To be eligible for the Registered Lean Practitioner (RLP) Professionals, applicants should complete and pass the Lean Pracitioner Certification Programme conducted by the SSI (or equivalent training program), and submit an individual Lean project report.
“Those who have completed equivalent Lean Practitioner training from other institutions and wish to obtain SSI’s professional certification or enrol in higher-level SSI courses must first apply for an exemption and pass the eligibility assessment conducted by the SSI Examination and Registration Board.”
Project Report Requirement
In addition to the above eligibility criteria, every applicant must complete and submit a Lean project report. The project report must include the following details:
- Project Title: A clear and concise title reflecting the focus of the project.
- 目的: A statement outlining the main goals of the project.
- Scope: A description of the project scope, including the specific area or process being addressed.
- Methodology: An overview of the Lean tools and techniques applied during the project. Basic and simple Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, or Root Cause Analysis should be utilized.
- Results: A summary of the outcomes achieved through the application of Lean principles, including any quantitative or qualitative improvements.
- Conclusion: Reflections on the project’s impact and any recommendations for future improvements.
- The project report should be well-organized and articulate, demonstrating the applicant’s understanding and application of Lean methodologies.

Annual Type: HK$750 per year
3-Year Type: HK$2,250
NOTE A re-registration assessment is required when:
• The Professional Registration has expired for over 12 months, or
• A New Registration Application is submitted more than 12 months after the course completion
unless an extension is approved by the Examination and Registration Board.
維持註冊專業資格
To uphold the standards of the Registered Professionals, all Registered Professionals are required to complete 30 CPD credits (equivalent to 30 credit hours) in every three years. CPD credits can be in a form of the following experiences:
- Leading Six Sigma / 精益 / continuous improvement / quality improvement projects
- Conducting Six Sigma / Lean training / continuous improvement / quality improvement programmes
- Attending Six Sigma / 精益 / continuous improvement / quality improvement or related training courses, seminars or study missions
- 參加本會在 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Scheme, or similar events organized by other renowned professional organizations such as Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Project Management Institute Hong Kong Chapter (PMIHK), etc.,
