Lean + Six Sigma = Quantum Leaps

Introduction

Lean principle comes from Toyota, the largest Japanese vehicle manufacturer in the world. Lean is a generic process management philosophy derived from Toyota Production System. Lean considers eliminating or minimizing the expenditure of resources for any goal other than the creation of value for the end customer, which is the core idea of Lean is to maximize customer value by using minimize waste. Lean is a journey of enhances efficiency by optimizing workflow.

Lean is focus on continuously improving the workflow and smoothness of work. Lean has a set of “tools” that assist to identify and steadily eliminating wastes (“muda”) in the system. As wastes are eliminated quality improves when production time and cost are reduced. The tools and techniques are include Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban, poka-yoke, line balancing, Heijunka…etc.

Course Design

The week between each training week allows the participants to work on their project assignments. This training schedule is ideal for the companies or individuals that have the difficulty of freeing for an entire week of training required by most other Six Sigma trainings.

Awards

Candidates successfully completed the course (minimum attendance 70%) and passing the examination, are awarded with a Lean Leader Certificates and eligible for registration as a Registered Quality Professional (Lean Leader) [RQP(LL)].
